Bringing Out the Underground 

Founded on the premise of DIY, hard working, community based recording and music, Messina Records is the record label for the people by the people, in the ever growing Japanese underground music scene. Formed in 2019 in Tokyo by Tony DeGennaro, the label has grown to now three highly dedicated people - who strive to bring out the underground one band at a time.  Located in Matsudo Station in Chiba Prefecture, all recording, mixing and mastering is done in house, at affordable costs, with focus on both Japanese and non-Japanese bands. We curate and produce a weekly podcast , Gotham to Tokyo, which is available for streaming on Spotify, showcasing various genres and artists in the Japanese underground music scene.
